Dedicated to the belief that everyone can benefit from therapy, I embrace the courage it takes to invite someone into the intimate realm of life experiences. Born and raised in Arizona to Mexican immigrant parents, my upbringing fosters a deep understanding of multi-generational cultural nuances and the challenges of biculturalism and bilingualism (Spanish).

With over 15 years of experience, initially as a Paralegal in the Family Law Facilitator’s Office at the San Diego Superior Court, I assisted parents in navigating legal matters. This background provides me with unique insights into the Family Court system’s impact on individuals and families.

Having transitioned to sunny San Diego due to marriage, I’ve cultivated a wealth of experience working with a diverse population. Committed to ending the stigma around mental illness, my passion led me to a career in mental health. I employ an Emotionally Focused Therapy lens to create a safe space for children and families, fostering healthy emotional connections.

Empowering individuals to lead whole and healthy lives, I find joy and privilege in the meaningful relationships formed through this transformative work. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to meet and collaborate with you!
Berenice-Leon-Fonseca

Over the span of 15 plus years, I worked as a Paralegal at the Office of the Family Law Facilitator, with the San Diego Superior Court, where I helped parents and guardians navigate through their legal matters. Such experience has afforded me the opportunity to understand the process and the impact that the Family Court system can have on individuals and families. Ultimately, I was moved to pursue a career in mental health to end the stigma on mental illness, help empower people to live whole and healthy lives, and engage in meaningful relationships.

Because I believe in creating healthy emotional connections, I work within an Emotionally Focused Therapy lens to help support my clients on their journey towards healing and wholeness. It is a joy and a privilege to do the work that I do!

I look forward to meeting and working with you!
