Katie’s therapeutic lens assumes we are wired for connection; yet, things get in the way of us feeling truly connected to our closest friends and family, our partners, or spouses, and maybe most importantly, ourselves. Our fear, hurt, and anxieties push us away from our closest relationships. This disconnection from ourselves and significant others can cause a spectrum of symptomatology, both emotional and physical. Counseling provides a safe space to explore the things that are blocking connection, to move through the blocks, and to arrive with a deeper and more congruent concept of self. Ultimately, Katie works to offer techniques to regulate big emotions so that we feel grounded and motivated to reach out for our significant others, vocalize our needs, and experience deep, impactful connections. Katie (Kathryn) Stefano is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) in California, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) in Washington. She is available to take new clients in the Carmel Mountain office and for Telehealth (in CA and WA). She sees families with children of all ages, individuals, and couples.
