I am of Indian origin, born in North Dakota, USA, but raised in Kolkata, India. I went to medical School in India before moving back to the USA. I am bi cultural and trilingual (English, Bengali and Hindi). I work best with adults, late teens, and young adults.

  • I incorporate Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and medication management to help resolve issues. I do refer clients to specialists who will need special services like CBT, DBT, family and couples therapy as their primary therapy module.

  • I believe a good fit with a mental health professional helps a long way in achieving the desired goals.

  • I am a founding member of a Non-Profit organization called A VIEW, we help women with mental illness get off the streets, give them wrap around services to get them back on their feet. This organization works on the ground in West Bengal, India. I spend about 6 months in Kolkata on the ground working with the team and stay connected to patients via video conference during those times.

  • I am a Rotarian, member of the Del Mar Solana Beach Rotary club, we meet every Friday morning at 7:15 am. Rotarians volunteer time and resources for social causes.

  • Yoga, sudoku, card games, traveling.

  • My son just finished culinary school, so now I am finally learning western cooking! It was limited to mac ’n cheese before that.

  • Thrifting is my new shopping! 

  • I have a New Year’s resolution to not buy or wear new clothes, doing my part for the environment, the landfills are overwhelmed with fast fashion clothes that have a very short shelf life.
