Melissa Ottum

As a Marriage and Family Therapy trainee, I am dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families heal through deeper emotional connection, self-awareness, and relational growth. My approach is rooted in the belief that healing is about breaking long-standing patterns, reclaiming one’s voice, and creating a more intentional and fulfilling life.

My clinical interests include Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. I work systemically, exploring how early experiences, cultural influences, and family dynamics shape our emotional responses and relational patterns. Whether supporting a couple navigating disconnection or helping an individual process generational trauma, I aim to create a space where clients feel safe, empowered, and understood.

Prior to entering the therapy field, I led teams in recruitment and people development. These experiences deepened my understanding of motivation, communication, and the human need for connection. Now, I bring that same relational lens to my work as a therapist-in-training, meeting each client with curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to lasting change.

If you’re looking for a therapist who values depth, authenticity, and collaboration, I’m honored to support you in this chapter of your growth.
